Topic: Irrlicht v1.6 compatible mod (2010_01_09)

the mods have been updated to be Irrlicht v1.6 compatible.  please see the INSTALL.TXT file with the distro for basic install instructions.

2010_01_09 Irrlicht Mod for Irrlicht v1.6/BMAX v1.34

the .a and .dll files have been updated to Irrlicht v1.6.

most examples have been updated and are now included in the mod download in the examples folder.  i have the last example yet to convert (21) but am unable to compile it in CodeBlocks so I'm not sure I want to spend the time.

a few instructions...

for installing the mod:

extract the mod distribution zip file into your mod folder under blitzmax.  this should create an irrlicht.mod folder under your mod folder and then the core.mod folder under that.

for installing the lib and dll files:

from the mod distribution:

copy BMAX\mod\irrlicht.mod\lib\win\Irrlicht.dll to your windows\system32 folder
copy BMAX\mod\irrlicht.mod\lib\win\D3DX81ab.dll to your windows\system32 folder

you can download the Irrlicht v1.6 MingW DX9/DX8 build at:

IrrDX_v1_6 MingW .a and .DLL files

copy libIrrlicht.a to your BMAX\mod\irrlicht.mod\core.mod folder
copy Irrlicht.dll to your windows\system32 folder
copy D3DX81ab.dll to your windows\system32 folder

if you download the Irrlicht distro then:

copy lib\Win32-gcc\libIrrlicht.a to your BMAX\mod\irrlicht.mod\core.mod folder
copy bin\Win32-gcc\Irrlicht.dll to your windows\system32 folder

NOTE:  i have not yet compiled a distribution for Linux.  You can download the Mac Intel binaries at:

a bug reported by porcus that affects the getMeshFromFileIO method of iscenemanager has been fixed and a new version of the mod uploaded.  thanks to porcus for the bug report and compilable example.

in order to implement a callback in the new xeffects mod, i needed to split a file for the binder class.  this is the only change in the 2010_01_09 release.
